Due to the current risk of COVID-19, also known as the Coronavirus, our regulatory body, Nova Scotia
Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP), has established [COVID-19 Pandemic Practice Guidelines]
This includes recommendations for limited in-person appointments based on need as assessed by psychologists. As such the majority of clients will be seen through Telepsychology and all initial intake appointments will be offered by Telepsychology only.
I encourage all patients who are sick, or experiencing symptoms such as fever, trouble breathing, or
coughing, to call to reschedule any in-person appointments at (902) 826-1704. If you are having
symptoms, but you'd like to keep your scheduled appointment, a Telepsychology appointment is still an
option for you.
The software used for online therapy appointments is the secure Zoom for Healthcare version of the popular platform called Zoom. Please note that Zoom for Healthcare complies with Canadian Data Protection regulations, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, locally, the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA).

Before your appointment, you will need to download and test Zoom. Zoom is available to be installed on a computer, tablet, iphone or android device. You do not need a Zoom account to join the session, and it is both PC and Mac compatible. As long as your device has a front-facing camera and microphone, you can use it.

To ensure that you are prepared and comfortable for your Telepsychology session, please visit the Preparation for Your Telepsychology Appointment page as soon as you have a scheduled appointment. Before your appointment, you will be sent a Zoom link that you will use to enter your session.
